Penang International Dragon Boat Festival 2009 (Part 1)

After the Penang Bridge International Marathon, the Penang State Government seems to nominate Dragon Boat as an annual sports event! Last year the organizer was held this event at the Teluk Bahang dam. Maybe the water there is more clean and the venue is suitable for the dragon boat players. Anyway, due to the people request they moved to Jelutong Expressway Seaside for the event.
Penang International Dragon Boat Festival 2009
This was the venue for this event. I really feel glad to see that there was another location for me to see the sea view. I like it very much! But maybe the sunlight was bright and you will really feel hot and sweat when you stand at there.
Penang International Dragon Boat Festival 2009
As you stand on the land, you can see the Penang Bridge at your right hand side whereas Weld Quay at your left hand side. It's a center point for two venues! The scenery was nice but just the sea water not so good. The water quality a bit terrible!

This place was completed by the IJM Developers. This developer owned the whole land along Jelutong Expressway from previous State Government. They built the Jelutong Expressway by exchanging the land to this developer. IJM was built a lot of housing units along the expressway for example Bayswater, Platino, E-Gate, The Spring, Summer Place, Ocean View, Nautilus Bay and more.

Actually it's something like a competition between the International teams. One dragon boat can sit about 20 peoples! Every player has to play the role probably in order to move the boat. You can really feel it what call team work. The players were strong enough and really can work under the bright sunlight! In front of the boat, there will have one person play the drum to guide the players! It's really a team work...
Penang International Dragon Boat Festival 2009
That day there were two pro photographers sat beside me busy shooting to the dragon boat. They kept changing their camera lens and changed from small to large. One man still owned himself two DSLR one is Canon EOS-7D. Woots... two men were so pro in photography! My dad asked them some questions about DSLR and they chat a lot in there. I can't focus much because my camera just have 3X zoom! No choice, just try the best to take the nearer shots.

At last, I remembered that the guy who owned EOS-7D advice me to study well and next time have the chance to own a pro camera! I took his advice and always tell myself, "study is the way to guide you out to future life"! I will continue with part 2 for this blog post.. So please check back to my blog!

Penang Bridge International Marathon (Part 3)

Hey guys did you celebrate your wonderful christmas? Time moves fast... Now is coming to year end. Still have 5 more days we are going to welcome a new year! I am just back from Christmas short-term holidays. I scared I can't finish the 2009 blog post and maybe have to extend until next year. By the way I try to complete it!

Now let us continue with the Penang Bridge International Marathon part 3. In previous 2 parts, I described something about the run and the light activities. Anyway, let me check my photo storage see whether still left which part haven't mentioned.

Here are the photos that show to you the Fun Runners were coming back to the destination!

I love those photo shootings that I manage to focus some runners with the signboard of Finish Line. Anyway, I also snapped my dad who always with the yellow cap. This cap was sponsored by DiGi telecommunication company in few years ago.

Later I met up with my friends, Sher Rynn together with her brother Teng Shin. Both of them really good in sports! I knew them since last year when I participated in the Anak-anak Kota T-shirt Silk Screen workshop. By the way, both of them really good! I felt so glad have the chance to meet those new friends! =)
Penang Bridge International Marathon 2009
I walked around the site and saw there were many peoples busy taking photos. Up next I saw 2 yellow guys by DiGi were there posing for photos. So I took a snap on it and seems not bad! DiGi is always in yellow colour, easy to recognize!

The closing ceremony started from the speech of the organizing chairperson YB Danny Law. He said that glad to see that this year participants are more than last year. He continue to mentioned something about this run and not to forget promote Penang Tourism. Lastly he also congrats to all winners and told them to enjoy themselves in Penang. I really looking forward for next year 21st of November! We still have this annual event! I think there will have one more part to complete whole Penang Bridge International Marathon series. Today morning about 10.45am I arrived at school. Saw most of the students get their result with flying colours. Before that I received a phone call from my friend JiunMing who told me a good news that he get 7A's and 1B. I congratulated him first and started to nervous for my result! Anyway, I keep myself steady to buy some batteries for photo shooting.

But it's too late for me... I didn't manage to take a photo with my friends. No group photos, no personal photos but just a result slip shot. I don't mind it! Tomorrow I will go and read newspaper that see my friends' name appear on it! Tonight maybe I will turn on TV to watch NTV7 and Astro Bernama TV for the interview of my friend, Lester!

SPM Last Day

I am not the SPM candidate but I am the PMR candidate for this year. Last week while the SPM going to end, I was there for helping to clean up the tables. As I followed my mum to school and she dropped me there earlier. I went there to meet up with Nicholas, Tee Jin who were taking SPM for their last day. They seems to be happy and had prepared! The last paper of Chinese seems to be confident to them... XD!
SPM Last Day
The ChungLing most outstanding blogger Nicholas Chan was there taking photos with me. He is my friends and I really admired at him. He could manage his time so good! He divided his time in blog, photography, outing, study and more... Really a good guy! Now I think I am going to miss him because he no longer in my school next year! XD. He is an outstanding blogger!

As you can see most of them were worried on the paper. Don't know whether which questions will come out. The same feeling from me when I was taking my PMR examination. They spent their time until last minute and hopefully the question come out is what they had studied. Many of them were studying on the last subject and some of them still asking teacher's opinion. The teacher was so good, she came over to school and share her knowledges with students! Good!

Actually I faced some problem and trouble to take photos for Nicholas Chan. As he mentioned in his blog that he lend me the camera for about 2 hours to let me took photos. But I couldn't make it because of the prohibited from teachers. I have no idea why I took some shots also kena remove the photos. I just try out to take some photos and really apologize to Nicholas Chan that the Mr Tan forced me to delete the previous photos. Haiz...

Anyway, then after the examination. I took lots of the photos for Nicholas Chan! I hope that he don't mind of the previous photos. Before leave I also took some photos of the candidates' feeling after the examination! You can see one guy but I don't know what's his name, he smiled so happily with the sign of Peace! I could see that they're really happy!

After 10 minutes of the examination ended, most of them were planned to go somewhere else for celebration. So the classroom was empty and waiting for us to arrange back the position. I saw most of the motor riders were there gathered together and seems to released out their stress by pulling on their motor bike gear. It's okay for me because this was one of the releasing stress! Later everyone went off and I started to work on the arrangement of tables!

It's over SPM.... Here come to Year-End and now is the time for ex-Form 5 to enjoy! Happy holidays and Merry Christmas! Posted by GenYong 22.12.2009

Dong Zhi Happy 2009 冬至快乐

Morning everyone here, if you're a chinese you sure know today is what festival going on. Anyway, Let me explain to you what you celebrate today. Actually Dong Zhi is a festival which directly translate means 'Winter Coming'. It's the last festival of the year and before Chinese New Year. Usually people will make 'Tang Yuan' (汤圆) on the eve of Dong Zhi. 'Tang Yuan' which mean a little glutinous rice ball. In traditional, my grandma told me that while children ate one 'TangYuan' they will elder 1 year old.
Happy Dong Zhi 2009
Just now about 10.00am in the morning I woke up and after did praying to ancestral, I ate one small bowl of Tang Yuan. My grandma used Tang Yuan to pray for GOD! Last night, we did the glutinous balls until midnight 12.00am! In total we did for four colours which means four seasons in whole year. I don't know which colour represent what... XD!
Happy Dong Zhi 2009
This is an annual festival event celebrated by Chinese. Some of them said 冬至大过年. So this festival it just seems like another Chinese New Year. My grandma later will cook something like Reunion Dinner. So now I ate the Tang Yuan and that means I grow elder! XD.

So have you eaten? Happy Dong Zhi yo~! 冬至快乐!
