4th Anniversary Series : Charity Service at Old Folks Home

In the month of June which was also the last month I served as a Leo Club member, I had visited two charity homes which were Old Folks Home and Children Home at Penang. I used to visit several times to charity homes, the feeling of having fun with those who need our help was really fun! Making fun with them, sharing the happy moments with them and etc.

On 25th June 2011, my school Leo Club had organized a visit to Little Sister Of Poor Old Folks Home with the Leo Club of Penang Chinese Girls High School. It was the 2nd time I visited the old folks home but the previous time was in the old building and now everything had turned into modern style.

This old folks home was located next to my school Chung Ling. So we used to be so familiar with the place. The old folks home was well managed and the environment inside the home was so fresh and green! I freaking like that place due to it's new environment just like a college or any modern building, it was next to school and can be listen to the students joyful sounds. Not bad la!

There were a lot of the club members attended this function. I think most of them were at school in the morning after enjoyed the fun fair and food fair on that day, then follow us to visit the old folks home! Maybe there was a lot of students made the old folks home suddenly turns so lively.

We were performing several performances to cheer up the whole atmosphere. Some performances like hokkien songs, chicken dance, chinese songs were raising up the atmosphere inside the old folks home. The whole region 1 Leos were cheering up old folks on that day!

Besides that, one of the old folks was taking the chance to perform her favourite song which named as 千言万语 which was a classical chinese song. After listened to her performance, I was glad and put my hand together to show the support on her. She was well in singing and she was so friendly too! =)

As you can see, all the members were so joyful and enjoying the performance with the old folks in front of the stage. They had made the whole atmosphere turned to be so lively. From the picture, everyone was raising their hands and showing the supports to the performers and old folks were clapping hands too.

My friend Ivan Lim was chit chatting with the old folks and shared out their life. It was enclosed the relationship between the old folks and us. Ivan was asking about the old folks about her life, her previous family and how was she feel after staying here. The old folk was talking friendly with us and she willing to share out her life with us.

There was an interacting session with old folks by the organizer. The purpose of having this was to encourage the youth like us to know more about old folks and try to calm them together with having fun with them. Making the joyful moments and shared with them.

After the project, same thing as well taking some photos for souvenir. We were glad to take the photos with old folks and also the friendly sister who was service inside the old folks home. Everyone was smiling to the camera and capture on it!

Hmm... Lester and Yi Wen was the organizer for this project. Both of them were well known "couple" in Region 1 Leo Clubs. Actually I am not sure that whether both of them were in true love or just playing only... But anyway, both of them look so match!

At the end, there were having the happy family group photos out there. Lion Ong was hosting the "family" and sitting beside was all the family members. The joyful at the place was so laughing non stop. The main attraction was Lester and Yi Wen.
