CNY 7th Day 大年初七(Belated)

Early in the morning of 7th Day of CNY, I went to the Leo Club + Interact Club activity at Relau Charis Home. Actually what they having there were celebrating CNY with those old folks in order to cheer them up during festival celebrations.

About 10.00am around 30 members of us were there gathering together. Alvin Lee was guide us to sing those CNY songs for those old folks. We were also visited their house and realized that where they are living and how was the life there.

So the old folks all was sitting in the "U shape" tables and prepared to see our performances. We are combined together with other school Interact Clubs such as Convent Bukit Mertajam, St George. That day I don't why Alvin Lee passed the microphone to me and call me sang out loud to lead the whole team. I was so shy on that time and keep on doing funny styles. =)

Later on, there were another team of adults came with 财神爷 giving out angpao to those old folks. We are still students, so no $$ to the old folks. We just greet them Happy CNY and may healthy always. I was so happy to spend my time with those Leos, Interactors and also the old folks, they were kind! They also advice us to study get the better achievement.

Then later we managed to have a group photo but the photo is not with me. I just have the group photo with Yong Seng, Jaschong and Alvin. It's quite blur because the people who took camera not stable, it's okay!

Queensbay Mall vs Gurney Plaza (CNY Decorations)

I know I am too late to post up this but I still need to compare it. I don't want to waste my energy and my camera battery for shooting this for nothing. So now let us compare which one you prefer, is it Queensbay Mall or Gurney Plaza. Both shopping complex above were having the nice CNY decorations. Let us see what's the best

Queensbay Mall was design the CNY decorations into the classic 60s and it brought out "The Old ShangHai" style. Inside the mall there were a lot of the Old ShangHai style building models such as hotels, old karaoke and also some featured place for public to take photos.

Whereas Gurney Plaza is just design the huge square shaped lanterns hanging on the central zone and also its new wing. It looks more simple compare to Queensbay Mall and there still have place to let those developer to held exhibition.

In Penang island, these two shopping complex were compete each other to get the support from shoppers. Gurney Plaza is quite far for me and Queensbay Mall is just near my place. So I prefer to shop in Queensbay Mall. What do you think?

CNY 5th Day 大年初五(Belated)

On the 4th day of CNY, I went to my uncle's house overnight there with my KL cousin. We gamb, we drank, we play, we eat and chit-chat! It's so fun. Then the next day he brought us to have lunch at Gurney Drive then shop at Gurney Plaza.

We just did some window shopping and walking around in the shopping mall rather than walking outside which had the hot weather. As you can see I just take some random shots on my little cousin-keegan.

CNY 4th Day 大年初四(Belated)

Hey guys sorry for the late update because I was so busy with my school stuffs recently. Anyway, I really try to update fast on those CNY updates and hope that I can complete them by this month. So now we come to Day 4 of CNY which can be said too free while you stay home so I decided went to cinema for movie.

When I reach there, I was shocked to see the long queue from GSC counter goes until the autopay station. That time I was lazy to queue up and if I queued up sure no longer have seats for me. So I just walk along Queensbay Mall.

The long queue was there and many people was there waiting for their turn to buy tickets.

As you can see the Kim Gary Restaurant was full of people.

Maybe that time the outside weather was so hot and caused many people feel like to have a window shopping. It's really different when you walked into aircond area from the outside when it's hot day. So I could see many shoppers were there doing some window shoppings.

Besides that, I also made myself a shot when I went up to the North Zone washroom. I was there first time and I just realized that many people had their photos in the washroom. The washroom was unique and it's open air. You can look outside, hear outside but outside can't see you! Don't worry, XD!

Up next I found that nothing to do and just walk along in Queensbay Mall holding my camera snapping those CNY decorations. I quite like the CNY decorations which used the idea of Classic 60s in Shang Hai. It's cool and let those teenagers can imagine how was the Classic 60s looks like.

Whereas the outside of the complex was decorated with some sugar cane and lanterns which carried out the meaning of Hokkien New Year too. At the central zone of the mall, there was a trishaw for exhibition and let's people to take photos. I will show up on next post! Check out.

Education Fair 2010

The day before first term holidays start, my school organized an Education Fair for those who get the result of previous day. It was also a guide for those form 5 and us form 4 to go and take a look. Take the brochures, communicating, know more, know well and plan for the studies in future. This exhibition is jointly organized by the Unit Bimbingan Kaunselling together with PRS society. It is an annual event actually and I can see that there are improvement on every year.

You can see there were many Form 5 students asking about the studies. They took this seriously because they are going to graduate on year end. But for us Form 4 just take a look and have an idea on what we should study.

Those PRS members were there helping the visitors for the guide of studies. They were really caring on our studies and prepared some surveys for us then let us find out self identity. It's good!

I like this very much as the creativity of PRS member was really good! I love it very much. I really admired at their creative and the drawings were so nice. They seems to ask about yourself, you have to understand more about yourself before make the decision.

There were a lot of colleges come forward to do the students intake and introduction. They were included the top colleges such as INTI, TAYLORS, DISTED, KDU, SENTRAL, NILAI, THE ONE ACADEMY and more.

Besides that, I also took some group photos with my previous A1 classmates and bloggers as well. We took the design on stage as the background and took some shots. Talk about those designs, I really feel great to them who were making on this. I can feel that cooperation really needed on working this!

Penang Kek Lok Si Pre Shot

Before going up to the Kek Lok Si, you will see the large God of Mercy 观音菩萨 seems like welcome you to Kek Lok Si. During the CNY, many people seems rush to there and take a look on the features. The lights were on during the 15 days of CNY and attracted many local people and tourist went up and took photographs.

Due to traffic jams around Air Itam, so my dad just drop off me at Kampung Pisang there and let me take some snaps. I did a lot of snaps but I only can pick the best! It is really hard to zoom in if didn't have a DSLR! So I took one pre shot before I went up to Kek Lok Si. I will post up the photos up coming posts. Posted by GenYong 18.03.2010

CNY 3rd Day 大年初三

The first two days of the CNY, I keep on visiting my relatives. Then the 3rd day, I should be at home but my dad drove us to Weld Quay to see the Pisces yacht. Wow information from my dad, he said that The Pisces Star Cruise yacht was launched by the Genting group. Inside this yacht, there have rooms for KTV and also Casino. You can really enjoy your one whole night there either with family or couple or even friends! =)

The new Swettenham Port after renovated. Now those large yacht can easily move near to this port and enable all the star cruisers to enjoy their day in Star Cruise.

As you can see there were workers up there busy washing the window of Pisces.

I really proud to be Penangite who was so lucky to stay on island. We can easily come to seaside and beach or even everyday we pass by the coastal highway. Penangites really lucky compare to mainland people or even the big city Kuala Lumpur. So we must appreciate our sea and keep it be clean let's our next generation to enjoy it too! SPM 2009 Result Out! 11th March 2010

THE BEST of The Best!

I would like to congrats those who scored well in the SPM examination. SPM is considered an important examination and also a MUST examination for Malaysia students. Without taking SPM, without work in future. In Malaysia the education law is like this! At least you pass your SPM and as well your Malay subject can get a credit then you can don't worry about staying in Malaysia.

So nowadays the education system always being update and it is more tough to get the excellent result. I really proud of them who can score so high achievement! And also I would like congrats Nicholas Chan, Min Xiang, Alvin Yang, Andy Ooi, Tee Jin and many more ex-form 5 mates.

Most of the candidates were nervous on their results.

The school still spend money to do a special banner for those candidates who scored well in any government examination. They are the first who used this banner as last year when my PMR result out, they not yet use this banner. This can be seen the school was so proud of the good achievements from students!

Those top scores were there prepare for photographs.

They were requested to have a group photo with Senior Assistant of the school and some of them were really glad to do that. Because it is hard to have such a group photo in life! Maybe this will be the once? So everyone appreciated.

Mr Lye was giving out instruction on how to take the group photos together and those official, unofficial and media photographers were ready to take the good shots! Every photographers picked a good place to take the good shootings!

Luckily that time my camera was alive and it gave me the chance to take these nice pictures! I was stand in the middle and could able to snap the candidates! Everyone was glad to receive their result and really believe that everything in High School has over! They plan to start their college or university life.
