Christmas Eve 2011 Countdown

Sorry for late posting up this blog post, recently I was busy to help my friend to set up his online business stuffs. CNY is coming I also need to buy some new year stuffs and went for outing too! So now we flash back to the previous christmas celebration that I had with my family. Usually every year I was having the christmas eve countdown with my parents because I don't have couple yet! xD.
Rasa Sayang Hotel was so quiet on that night, no celebrations, no lights, no concert. Just a peaceful night there! Hmm... I don't know why. We walked on the Rasa Sayang Hotel compound and feel that the place was too romantic, the compound was so big but the lights there was not bright enough. Too many trees there makes the atmosphere turn to be dark. But it's a peace place to stay, 6 stars hotel... Good!
Anyway, we made our first time countdown christmas by the sea. That night we had visited 3 places that's Rasa Sayang Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel and the last one was at Straits Quay. As for me to compare 3 of them, I would like to say the most quiet was at Rasa Sayang Hotel, you can really enjoy the peaceful christmas eve there. The most crowded was at Straits Quay but they don't have any celebrations out there. The most fun and exciting was at Hard Rock Hotel, I quite like the Foam Party!
Here come the Hard Rock Hotel, inside the hotel I could see many people sitting at there enjoying their dessert or coffee, chit chatting with friends. Some of them were at the swimming pool there playing the water and even having the foam party there! DJs were playing the club hitz for them to play around, that night was saturday night the atmosphere even high!
Boys and girls were there playing water and having fun together! Cool.
Inside the Hard Rock Hotel, there are a lot of unique stuffs to see. All the classic musicians were here, what I mean was their previous shirts and images were here exhibit for visitors to witness it. Some of the designs were unique and I like it very much!
Spending the whole christmas eve travelling to Batu Ferringhi, but it's worth because I did my first time being at Batu Ferringhi at night. I saw crowded of people walking on the road for the night market and plenty of traffic jam too! In Hard Rock Hotel, it was so fun looking those teenagers playing around with the water, well it's a nice place for couples too!
Hard Rock Hotel is not that big I think, according to my dad he said Hard Rock Hotel previously should be an old style hotel, but I don't know what name is that. But now Hard Rock Hotel can be said as one of the crowded beach hotels in Penang. Besides that still have Park Royal, Long Pine, Paradise, Flamingo and more!
At last at the Straits Quay there was so crowded of people but no celebrations, no cheers and nothing. Just walking around, playing around. No countdown, just wish each other merry christmas, no shouting! Seems to be so down. Anyway, after this we had went back home. I will post up the New Year Trip to KL soon! Stay tuned. Merry Christmas Angry Bird

Yo guys, so how was your christmas celebration recently? Did you receive any gifts from Santa Claus? Yes I was glad to receive a christmas cake from my neighbours. They were so helpful and friendly and I was glad to have such neighbours like them. Well I love the christmas cake very much. The cake is in round size but it was specific designed as an angry bird! Cool... the red angry bird design looks so real and nice!
See? The angry bird design was so unique and it looks so special on that. Isn't it? Hmm... It looks nice but when I taste on it, it was just the simple sponge cake. Can be consider not bad already, this cake was given by people so no matter how we cannot comment much on it. Finally I ate up everything with my family. The taste was normal but the design was awesome!
So what you get for your christmas? Oh ya... actually this christmas my mum had spent a lot on buying new IT stuffs for me and my sister! She was so kind and I love her very much! My sister had bought Samsung Galaxy W and I had bought a brand new laptop Toshiba Satelite L-745 Notebook. A new pearl white colour, the design was so awesome and I love it very much enjoying using it now! Posted by GenYong 27.12.2011

Christmas Feeling at Straits Quay

From the previous post that I mentioned I went to Straits Quay with family, I felt that the christmas atmosphere was near in Straits Quay. Looking up the decorations in the main central zone, I was feeling so glad to see the beautiful and amazing design in my hometown - Penang.
I think this year Christmas, Penang will full of crowds and traffics too. Only inside the island, Gurney Drive and Queensbay will be the hot spot for countdown Christmas. I think Straits Quay will be the next hot spot in this year, as well as the scenery and environment there was more suitable for most people.
I had taken some photos with my sister and grandma while my parents were still at the book fair. I was so like the huge christmas tree and I think it needs a lot of efforts doing this, really not easy!
The most attractive spot in Straits Quay will be the flea market in the central zone. When I sat at there with my grandma, I could see that there were non stop flowing of people. Most of them were attracted by the small stuffs and also some christmas decorations designing.
Straits Quay was built directly facing to the sea and almost every weekends I could see crowds over there. No matter is family, couples, tourists or even young boys and girls. I believe that Straits Quay will be leading towards for the Christmas and New Year Countdown event this year.
In the conclusion, Straits Quay has the special way on designing their christmas decorations! The lights and designs were seems to be classic and seems like hotel style. The Straits Quay was developed by E&O Developer and the style of building was similar like E&O hotel in Georgetown! One word, classical nice! =) Posted by GenYong 14.12.2011

#1 Queensbay Mall's Christmas Decorations
Queensbay Mall had decorated their central zone into the christmas mode. It was seems like the wonderland in the winter season and there was a lot of kids stuffs there. It was like bring everyone back to childhood! Really nice design!
#2 Penang Times Square's Christmas Decorations
Penang Times Square had decorated their mall symbol into the christmas dressing which the statues were dressed up like the santa claus greeting the mall customers! It was so cool and I am looking forward for the christmas event there!
#3 Komtar's Christmas Decorations
Inside Komtar there was no christmas decorations whereas for GAMA Supermarket there, it was a large christmas tree showing in front and seems like the new season symbol of Komtar Georgetown! Not bad the idea but I hope to see Komtar having some christmas decorations too. By the way, Komtar had just renovated... Turn to more clean, more clear and more lights.
#4 1st Avenue's Christmas Decorations
I was getting attracted into the christmas decorations inside the mall. I was attracted into the theme that given by the mall management. It was themed as Musical X'Mas! Wow.... It was so amazing and the theme was like having the rhythm of christmas songs. When I walked into the mall, I heard the christmas songs non stop playing in the mall. Good idea 1st Avenue!

Penang Shopping Malls Christmas Decorations

In this holidays, I walked around almost the Penang Island shopping malls and search for their christmas decorations. This year the christmas decorations not really grand and not really a lot of surprise. But also a good job them for decorating the mall to become christmas atmosphere. From Queensbay Mall to Straits Quay, I can see that most of them really put their hard work on working the decoration.
At Queensbay Mall, the organizer themed up with the Barbie Exhibition and decorate the mall into pinkish design. Quite nice but this year a bit girlish... The stage was huge like a palace. Not bad xD!
At Gurney Plaza, they just use the simple christmas trees to decorate the concourse area. Simple is nice. Quite nice and save the place really much! Not bad xD
The shopping supermarket which nearest from my house Sunshine Square also placed one huge christmas tree on the exhibition hall. It's really special designed by using butterfly. Nice!
Next, we moved to the most far from my house that's the newly opened shopping complex Straits Quay which located at Tanjung Tokong. The huge christmas tree in front of the entrance looks like welcoming everyone to the mall... nice!
Lastly let's look on the 1st Avenue christmas decorations... Not so complicated but really nice. I can feel that I am at the snow place now. It's winter season now! Really let me has the feel on celebrating white christmas.

So let's vote you prefer which christmas decorations! hahaa... anyway, just comment under this post will do. Posted by GenYong 23.12.2010
