UTAR-ians H2O Community Camp

UTAR H2O Community was having their own organized camp in previously. I was taking part on behalf as a task force for the event. I was having semester break on that time that's why my consumer club president invited me to participate on that event.
It was the early morning at Beach Street and since the state government had announced it will be the Car Free Zone on every Sunday from 7am until 5pm so the lively street turn to be no more car on that day. So all the citizens can come out to have fun with family like cycling, playing sports and many more.
#1 Those are the stuffs for our game station in the camp.
#2 My funny expression been captured by my friend John Tan. :D
We were supervising the game station of "Hamster Run" on that morning. The game was played in a group of participants which they have to use the newspaper provided to build up a kit like hamster kit in circle and everyone must be stepping and holding the paper to walk for 1km. It looks easy but when you do it, it was tough. Well, somehow when the game comes to the end we used to let it go for every group although it was not. xD

#3 Some of the participants met up their friends and had a chit chat there.

The same group as well and now they were playing jumping over for a few distance. Same thing, looks easy but seriously it's hard to play.
They played happily in a group and the team spirits were strong. Although it was not that smooth while playing the games, as they will try their best to complete up the mission. Good!
#4 It was CAR FREE Day so you can spot bicycles on the road there!
The sun getting brighter and hot so the organizer decided to end up the game and we then proceed to 1st Avenue for their closing ceremony. It was really hot under the sun and when we stepped in the mall it was like so cool. Nice :D
#5 Here come the random group photos from my camera. There were around 50 peoples joining this event!
#6 We went for pool playing while having the free time before the event ends.
#7 He is John Tan who is my groupmates and best friend too. He is nice and friendly responsible guy!
#8 After the pool game, we bought a drink from BlackBall to chill ourselves - Passion3Q Green Tea.
Before we went to dinner at Harbour Place which located at Macallum Street, we did ourselves chilling at the seaside. We went to Jelutong Harbour Place and have a seat chit chat with each other.
#9 Jack Heng and me, he is also a friendly guy who involved in a lot of events too.
#10 My indian friend, Kathiravan. We knew each other since primary school. He is the indian who can speak Chinese language fluently!
#11 My good friend John Tan, knew him since I was in Form 1. He is a good and responsible guy!

So we end up with the dinner and said goodbye to all the UTAR-ians. From this camp, I experienced on how to be a station game supervisor and also how to organize a community event. It was tough to have a good event like this so maybe I need more experiences in upcoming days. Thanks to all my friends who spent their time with me on that day and of course thanks to Consumer Club for inviting me to join this. Posted by GenYong 09.10.2012

6Celcious 1st Avenue Grand Opening

6Celcious Tea and Desserts company has expanded their business in Penang Island. Since January there was an outlet opened at Gurney Plaza 6th Floor and getting a good respond from customers and now they are expanding their business to 1st Avenue Mall.
On 25th May 2012 is their 1st opening day and it was located at 1st Avenue, 8th Floor just beside Chatime and same floor with TGV Cinema! The outlook of the shop is really cool and unique design! There is a big menu board in front of the counter and also banner stand ready outside the shop with the large LCD TV showing customers for their features drinks!
I went to their 1st opening day to witness the new shop opened in 1st Avenue Mall. It seems to be so nice and cool place for shoppers to enjoy their drinks there! From the 1st day opening until 10th June 2012 there was Buy 1 Free 1 Deal at there! I bought one drink and get one drink for FREE, means Buy Large Get Regular!
It's worth to pay up RM6.90 for 2 drinks! The taste of the drink was nice and some sort like Chatime. Well, it is special in the icy series and I really addicted on it! It was so unique just like Iced Coffee Milk Tea is the special one also! Conclusion it's not bad to have it as a dessert! If you're free, can take a try there! It's same branch outlet with Gurney Plaza too.
There are more and more various type of drinks for you to choose. Find one day when I am free and having sufficient money, I will try the best to taste all of them! It sounds like quite nice, you have to go and take a try! Posted by GenYong 15.06.2012

1st Avenue DragonCNY 2012 Decorations

Gong Xi Fa Cai! DragonCNY 2012 is coming in a few days more! So are you ready to welcome it? Have you done your new year shopping and bought the new clothes for yourself? Hmm... when season comes like christmas or chinese new year, the shopping malls will decorate with the festival items and bring out the atmosphere of the festival.
I went to 1st Avenue last Tuesday for the opening ceremony and I saw the unique design from the shopping mall. Seriously it was nice and consider not bad in Penang! A few big lanterns hanging in the centre zone of the mall and surrounded by a few small lanterns beside.
As you can see inside the whole shopping mall was full of the CNY atmosphere. I like the red cloth wrapping the handrail and it was so match the atmosphere! Really a nice one. Besides that the top floor designed even nice and I think this was a big project for the decoration person. Cool!
As you view from the low level until the top floor, you will see that the lanterns arrangement was like inside the fun fair or perhaps the wonderland. The colour matching between red and yellow was so match! How nice is it? There was a message from the shopping mall "1st Avenue wishing you a Happy Dragon Year!"
In the middle stage, the management officers still built up a nice stage for the CNY events. After decorated, the stage seems to be smaller a bit but overall it's nice! The special from the stage was the China style building standing there! I have no idea how they do that but it was really awesome! Besides 1st Avenue, I had visited to Queensbay Mall and taken some photos about their CNY decorations too. Stay tuned for next post! =) Posted by GenYong 19.01.2012

1st Avenue Opening Ceremony

On 10th January 2012, I went back to Chung Ling High School to get the certifcation on my studies application. After done the job, I was followed my mum to Georgetown and she dropped me at 1st Avenue. I saw from newspaper advertise that 1st Avenue opening ceremony was happening on 10th January 2012 so I was just walk in and take a look!
1st Avenue was actually opened since the year 2010, I still remember that time was during the holidays season in the year end. After 2 years, the new shopping complex had fully occupied! It's a good job for Belleview Group to develop this project and as a part to revive up Komtar City Centre!
That day, Belleview Group Managing Director Dato Sunny Ho was there with Penang Chief Minister YAB Lim Guan Eng witness the new developed shopping mall having the opening ceremony. As the host of the mall, Dato Ho had brought YAB Lim walked around the mall and visit some featured store such as Hush Puppies (the biggest outlet in Penang), Carrefour Market, Parkson and also TGV Cinema!
After finished the visit of 1st Avenue, the mall management also provided the buffet lunch to all the VIPs. The lunch was taken place at the top floor Cloud 8. The empty space of the store suddenly changed to be fully occupied! Wow great! By the way, I'm not sure whether it was opened to public or just invited guests. A lot of guests were there to witness the opening ceremony of the shopping mall!
This shopping complex had become one of the latest shopping zone in Penang Island! Inside the new shopping mall there was a lot of shoplots opening and of course there was crowded of people sometimes especially during holidays season.
Chinese New Year is near, if not mistaken just counting down for around 5 days. So have you done the CNY shopping? Have you have enough new clothes for this coming Chinese New Year? Do your last CNY shopping, Let's Shop Now! Posted by GenYong 18.01.2012
