IU Day 2011 Preparation

Previously, I had organized a lot of events such as Sports Challenge like Handball Match, Basketball Match, Club Installation and many more activities in school. The last big scale event that I involved in organizing will be the Interact Club IU Day 2011. I was recommended by Seong Liew and Bin Hong who were President and Secretary of the club respectively.

However, I was try to deny for it but at last they believed me that I can handle those stuffs. So they elected me as the organizing secretary for this event. As I was still new in Interact Club, I don't know much about Interact Club also. I was just follow the instruction of the organizing chairperson Tze Han and did everything that I could handle to make sure this event success.

As well as I had designed out the poster and the official logo for this event. I believe that one success event must come with a good marketing strategy on publicity first. So I took the challenge and designed out the attractive poster to show out my designing skill. But it sounds to be so successfully done with the promotion throughout Facebook!

Shun Jie who are also one of the organizing committee in charge of program flows of the event. He was a scout member, he was so kind to allow us using the scout stuffs to set up the event venue.

Daniel Lim who being a resource in charge person also helped out on making the decoration for the event venue. We were there tide up the bamboo stick and make it us a cage for the human made animal as decoration.

After completed the job, everyone seems to be rest a while and try to continue later. Our job included bamboo sticks cutting, tiding bamboo sticks, searching for dry plants and other stuffs. Everyone was working under the hot sun, of course need some rest.

Yes, could you see that some of them were busy working while some of them take turns to have a cold drink under the hot sun! It was an awesome experience on working here under the sun for the event! It's worth it. I believe that our hard work could make the event turn into success.

All of us are working on tiding the bamboo sticks.

Besides that, our Form 6 senior also came to help out on the process tiding up the bamboo sticks. Through out the whole process, I had learnt how to be a "scout" on tiding up bamboo sticks and involve in development.

Tze Han and Ting Yi were there cutting out the foam that designed by words to decorate on the stage with the words "CLHS IU Day 2011" and "Discovering Africa". Actually those theme was I suggested out to the committees. I do website and Facebook event to run the publicity well on this event.

There I was learning on how to tide both bamboo sticks together with only the thin rope. It needs some skills on it when making a turn on the tide. Once that must be done is to make sure both bamboo sticks tided and can't even get removed. Stay tuned for the next post, I will post up the event photos of the IU Day 2011! Gumby Day @ Google 2011

Today 12 October 2011 when I opened up the home page Google.com I saw some cute stuffs appear on the Google Home Page. I wondered what's that and found that actually it was the 90th Birthday Anniversary of Art Clokey. I don't know him but I feel that the Gumbies there were so cute. I feel familiar on it maybe when I am still child, was playing those stuffs before.

You can find out Art Clokey profile and more details here. He is a creative guy, he could design out so many gumbies here and they were really cheer up my mind. Make myself first time knowing Gumby World today... So you may check it out via Google.

　

4th Anniversary Series : Chung Ling International Student Camp 2011

Previously, when I was checking my photos folder I saw some CLISC photos haven't update to my blog. So I think I will take the opportunities here to share it out for the last post of 4th Anniversary Series Blog Post. It will be a long post which full of pictures, do check it out!

For the last day in school, all the International Camp participants were taken part on the sports activities at school. At first they were lead to run the school field for two rounds after that went into the school hall for morning exercise.

They had the dance which leading by the Sports Technical member Shi Hao and Wae Samm. Both of them are the well dancer in school. So both of them lead everyone to dance on the morning dance with the rock song! Party Rock Anthem... everyone seems to be addicted on it. After that, they did played the telematch and such like competition with other teams. It was just like a team building game.

Oh yeah... they had won the match. For those teams who had won on the telematch get awarded for the medals. By the way, the medals were so nice! With the Penang Island shape and the memorable words on "CLISC 2011 Telematch", it's worth to keep it as a souvenir!

The next day and also the last day for them to be in this camp. The closing ceremony was started in a "down" mood for everyone. Everyone seems to be missing everyone and some of them were even cry on that day. Tears lot from everyone and somebody seems to be strong and swear to be friends forever after this camp.

There you can see everyone was busying put their signature on each participants shirt as a souvenir. Proving that they never forget their friends name! Some even exchange their contact details before the event started.

Everyone was sitting down and listen to the organizer for the thank you speech instead. They also took the opportunities and also grab the chance to share with each other before leaving everyone. I could see that they had a lot of things to be shared throughout the 7 days camp.

Each school or each team representatives were performing the final dances in the closing ceremony. They were trying to cheer everyone up instead of the down mood. Some of them were joined into the dance and dance together on the floor!

There was the sharing session from each school representatives. They had shared out their experiences and fun throughout this 7 days. Some of them even spoke with tears out on the stage. Although I am not the organizer, I was glad to hear that they were like our service to them and also our place together they promised to come back again! Welcome to Penang again...

Some of the participants' shirt were full of signatures. The purpose of putting the signature on the shirt is to remember someone easily. It's a better way than putting signature on paper on note pad... Because you won't open that note pad every day but for shirt of course you will wear it sometime.

Tears out from their eyes. This was happened that when one Vietnam school students was leaving to airport and back to their country already. So everyone was seems to be down again and keep on cheering each other. The atmosphere there was uncontrollable and everyone turned to be down and tears out.

Everything will come to the end. Said goodbye to everyone, hug each other and they leaved the school compound earlier. I could see some of them really leaved with tears.

Who not yet leave were putting their signature on each other's shirt.

After lunch there were some performances by the organizing team. All of them gather together in front of the stage and singing the "We Are The World" which by Michael Jackson and meant that we are together in the world. Friendship never ends because of leaving.

The video was made by the organizer team that collected everyone's photos throughout this 7 days. The song that played was originate composed by the organizing team! It was a good song to listen. I will share here after I could find that file.

My friend Chong Yee and Khai Lun was tried to cheer up their Vietnam's friend before he leaved the school. He was crying seriously because of missing the beautiful school compound and also the both good friends. He had came to this camp since last year. Chong Yee and Khai Lun bought some souvenir and gifts to him as well.

Ya finally it's a big group photos time! Everyone was grabbing the chance to take the group photos. Mostly were the organizer and they cheered that the project as well as the international student camp had finally well done through out this 7 days. 4th Anniversary Series : Charity Service at Children Home

In previous blog post, I had blogged about the charity service to Old Folks home. In the next day after visited old folks home, I had followed my sister's Leo Club which was Leo Club of Phor Tay High School to visit the children home at Scotland Road.

Ramakrishna Ashram Children Home

It's a well known children home which full of facilities. It was just like a school for children, for that children home most of them are indian children! They were so playful and really having fun when saw us visiting them. They were so cheerful and also have the special football training for everyone! Not bad la that children home.

Everyone was waiting for the chief organizer to announced the project start. As I was not the organizer, so I could take my time snapping around the photos. Looking on the new committees carry out projects.

He is Sean Yeoh who shared the same surname with me. I admire at him very much, he could stay strong on his life. For your information, he was late Brandon Yeoh's brother. Brandon was the one who dead in the dragon boat tragedy last year. I tell myself to take care his brother Sean Yeoh who also share the same surname with me. I had invited him to many Leo Events such as Penang Chingay Parade on last year. He is now studying at Vietnam.

The whole project was cheering up and having fun with the children! With the theme "Back to Childhood" which means that all of us were back to childhood and played like kids with those children. They were so nice and willing to play with us on that day! The whole children home was full of cheering sound and also the laughing from all of us! It was fun.

The children there was so cute and some were really active. They were so cooperate as a team when playing games. It's a good attitude on this! Good.

Playing station games of course can't lack of water and flour. So used to be playing very fun with flour and water. Children were so enjoyed on the station games as well as all of the Leos! Taking the water gun shooting everyone was so fun! xD.

Leo Dino Fok were joined into his team on playing the station game. This game was not bad and it used to train our mind on the accuracy! But at last the rings were so hard to throw into the cone, the game finally ends with laugh.

Everyone was so cooperate in their team probably. Helping the teammates on playing station games and make sure that their team will get the best award for the organizer. All of them were so enjoyed while playing the games.

The cute children here was playing with balloon. Good boy! xD.

Another game that won't miss while playing station games, there was the game with balloon. Who step on whose balloon, the person will win that. I know that game was a bit childish but really can cheer up everyone while playing this. It used to play it now as well in the range of teenagers.

At last all of the children there were enjoyed very much on the whole station game session. After that we cleaned up everything and of course taking the group photos as well. So it ends the event here. From my opinion, organize such event was really good to show that the children were being cared by us and also to develop the helpful mind on teenagers.
